"Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING--absolute nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
Since I've listed the best dog places in Pinellas, why not start on boat stuff?
Here are a few ideas of where to put the things in:
Boat Ramps at Pinellas County Parks

Open 24 Hours - Fresh water - Restroom facilities available - Belleair Boat Ramp 3900 W. Bay Drive, Belleair Bluffs
Open 24 Hours - Salt water - Restroom facilities available - Ft. De Soto Park 3600 Pinellas Bayway South, Tierra Verde
Open 24 Hours - Salt water - Restroom facilities available - John Chesnut, Sr., Park 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor
Open Sunrise to Sunset - Fresh water - Restroom facilities available - Lake Seminole Park 10015 Park Boulevard, Seminole
Open Sunrise to Sunset - Fresh water - Park Boulevard Boat Ramp 18651 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores

On September 23, 2003 the BCC voted (5-2) in favor of implementing a $5 boat trailer parking fee and a $100 annual pass for the same. The fee applies to the eight parks listed above.

Boat Clubs, great idea, Leah! I'm on that one next, for sure--I've actually thought about joining one more than once, especially since my boat's been out of the water...
...which also answer your question, Scott--boat clubs are a great way to get on the water without owning one, and as soon as mine's back in the water, I'd be happy to take some people out!
I'm with you too, Deb--when I came back to Florida from CA seven years ago, I said I'd only do it if I could be on the water somehow--it's just too dang hot in the summer otherwise! I can imagine NM is just as bad...oh, I know: "It's a dry heat..."right? ;-)
